Mid-level · Now hiring

PPC & Social Media Executive

A mid-level paid media role at HDC Consultancy. You run live Google, Meta and Microsoft campaigns plus organic social for client accounts, with a senior specialist reviewing your work. Remote, UK preferred, open worldwide.

Five minutes. A person reads every one.

The role

For someone a year or two into paid media who wants to get good at it. You run live campaigns from your first month and a senior specialist checks your work and tells you why. If you have built campaigns before and want more ownership, this is the step up.

Brand new to marketing? Start with the Digital Marketing Assistant role. Already senior with a full portfolio? See Paid Ads Specialist.

You work across paid search, paid social and organic. Researching audiences and keywords. Building and launching on Google, Meta and Microsoft. Writing the copy, producing the creatives, then turning the numbers into a report that says something useful.

None of it is theoretical. These are live budgets, so you see the consequence of a decision within days. That is the fastest way to learn this. We work remotely and async on Teams, with written briefs, a high bar, and someone senior over your shoulder until you do not need one.

What you'll do

  1. 1 Research audiences, competitors and keywords, and turn that into a campaign plan
  2. 2 Help build and launch paid campaigns across Google, Meta and Microsoft Ads
  3. 3 Write ad copy in clear, persuasive British English, and test variations
  4. 4 Produce ad creatives and social graphics from brand templates
  5. 5 Plan and schedule organic social content that supports the paid work
  6. 6 Check conversion tracking actually fires, and flag it fast when it does not
  7. 7 Pull performance data into clear client reports with a view on what to do next
  8. 8 Keep campaign admin tidy: naming conventions, budgets, negatives and audiences

What we need from you

The essentials. If you have these, apply.

  • Fluent English, spoken and written. You will write client copy and join client calls
  • A confident communicator who asks questions early rather than guessing
  • A commercial eye. You judge an ad on whether it works, before whether it looks good
  • IT proficient and quick to pick up new platforms and tools
  • Reliable to deadlines. We run to client timelines and you own yours
  • Some hands-on paid ads or social: a placement, a job, a side project, a business you helped out
  • The judgement to say "I do not know yet" and then go and find out

Helpful, but not required

Missing all of these? Apply anyway. None of it is a dealbreaker.

  • A degree in marketing, business, communications or similar
  • Google Ads, Meta Blueprint or an analytics certification
  • Campaigns you have run yourself. Small or personal ones count, so show us
  • Design skills in Canva, Figma or the Adobe suite
  • Familiarity with GA4, Looker Studio or spreadsheets beyond the basics
  • Any experience marketing local or service businesses

What good looks like

How we'll know it's going well, so you know what you're measured on.

  • In month one you are building campaigns to our standard with light corrections
  • By month three you own the day-to-day on a set of accounts and spot problems before we do
  • Your ad copy and creatives get tested, iterated and beat the control
  • Clients read your reports and understand exactly what happened and what is next
  • You grow into the specialist who trains the next person into this seat

Why join HDC

100% remote

We care what you deliver, not where you sit. Most of the team is UK-based and some roles are open worldwide. Each role says which. Async-first on Teams.

Live client work

No filler projects. You are on client websites and campaigns from your first week.

High standards, room to grow

Written briefs and a high bar. As we grow, so does the job.

Long-term and stable

We hire people to stay. The ones who do end up shaping how the agency works.

How we hire

Five steps.

  1. 1

    Apply

The form takes about five minutes. A short paragraph on why the role interests you, and your CV if you have one to hand.

  2. 2

We come back to the people going through

If you are going through to the next stage, we will be in touch seven days after the closing date.

  3. 3

    An informal conversation

Thirty minutes on video with Harry. He wants to hear how you think, and to answer whatever you want to ask him.

  4. 4

    A short paid task

A small piece of work, so we both find out what it is like. We pay for your time whether or not we make an offer.

  5. 5

    Offer

If it suits us both, we move quickly. No fifth round, no chasing us for an answer.
